Ever wondered exactly what this festival is all about ? Well now is your chance to get a taste of why you, your family and all your friends should come down and join us each year as we celebrate the Hop Harvest and remember all those for whom Hop picking in the gardens of Kent was an annual event. Please scroll down (right to the bottom) for a Quicktime version of the movie (for Apple iPads etc), and don't forget to check out the gallery of pictures from this year (2013).
There is no auto-play set for the movie, so you will need to click "Play" in order to see it. Huge thanks to David and Karen Pendleton of RVP Video in Ospringe who gave us a very competitive rate for this video.
TIP: The Quicktime movie is quite large so may take a while to download - when it is ready to play, the image area will change from white to black and a play bar should appear at the bottom for you to click on.
... and now for the pictures ...
Time to put the kettle on, sit back and take a moment to review one of the best events of the year.
Are you in here ?
(better captions and more photos will follow as I get time to do them - webmaster)
The photographic record for 2013 comes courtesy of the keen eye, visual wizardry and sharp lens of Colin McGinn, Area-51 Photography.
Col's unique ability to be in the right time at the right place couples with an imaginative view of the world and gives the perfect way to capture any event from wedding, birthday party or other private function right though to Faversham's Hop Festival.
Thanks go to him from all of us here at Hop Festival HQ, especially as he has said anyone can use any image from these pages - he'd just like to be acknowledged as the source, ask you to pop a quid or two into the collecting pot of either a Breast Cancer or child Cancer charity and if you or any of your friends have an event coming up that you want enshrined for all time give him a chance to tender ...
